All joking aside, though, I really think I can talk to this woman about all of my various thoughts and issues. Since a lot of my drama deals with men and sex, I felt like I needed to find a female therapist, and a relatively young one at that, who I wouldn't feel uncomfortable sharing my stories with. I mean, if I can't tell my therapist that I once had sex with a guy in the backseat of his car a mere 4 hours (and two bottles of wine) after meeting him, I'll never get anywhere. Honesty is key.
I'm not really sure what exactly I want to get out of these sessions, though. Like my therapist said, I'm pretty well-adjusted, but I'm afraid that all of this life change is going to do a number on me and I want to get ahead of it. Plus I kind of want to examine my behaviors in relationships and with my body with someone who actually has a degree. I feel like I do a lot of self-psychoanalysis, but I'm not trained at all. So who knows what kind of idiot ideas are going to come out of my head. So yes, this therapy journey will be an interesting one...
